AA Award Availability
« on: June 29, 2014, 11:34:38 PM »
Is anyone familiar with how AA opens up award availability?
I'm looking to fly NYC - SFO on 8/17 and returning on 8/21. I have been looking for a week for saver awards (either coach or business) and there is availability when I search for one passenger, but when I search for two there isn't.
Looking at the seating chart at the anytime award level, there seems to be plenty of empty seats, so it's just a question of saver availability. Are they likely to make more seats available?

unless you are emptying your account and have no interest having your AA account, i wouldn't recommend selling AA.

Looking to go JFK-LHR business class on AA award (on AA metal, to avoid BA fuel surcharges), at the end of July, early August.  Right now, there is no availability for saver awards.  Will AA open more awards as flight gets closer?  Do they typically do that?  Thanks.

any tips on best way to do this to minimize the risk of trouble with AA? Someone actually gunnu book me something - I'm not buying, he's a friend, not using the miles. should we make sure to do it from his computer/ IP, or have him call if can't do online? and use his credit card? any other tips to avoid trouble? legitimate use honestly, and don't want any trouble for either of us...
