Its just fine for basic computing. For your average computer user this will do, its nice and sleek and has no clutter.
The processor isnt powerful at all, I would get a Dell outlet all in one for this price.

The $300 - $400 is a little low for a decent computer with a monitor

Any recommendation on a good desktop. in the $600-$900 range. Probably Dell makes the most sense because of current twitter promo. I think the most recent deal dan posted is dead (the link does not bring it up)

Need a monitor? Anything else you specifically need and/or don't want (as far as specs go)?

It's for my grandfather in law. He's 86 and still uses AOL, if that gives you an idea of necessary specs . I need largest monitor possible. Don't mind going over $900 if it's a good deal but I don't think it's necessary.
Thanks for your help.

This one should suffice. Then there's this one,a decent spec bump (albeit unnecessary or your use IMHO) for the price differential.

If you're willing to compromise a bit on screen size, this one's specs are similar to the first option, but the screen is 23" instead of 24". You save $100+, so it might be worth it.

That price doesn't seem to include a monitor, and the monitor options with that configuration aren't that big (you said you wanted the biggest possible).

Get the monitor elsewhere (like staples) for cheaper
