So unless i can guarantee that I wont be in the resort tower, wouldnt it be better to go with Westin?

The room, service and ambiance is better at ritz. And for small difference in cost

Any idea how they treat platinums there?

Just stayed there as Plat (although for some reason at check in he saw me in his system as gold). I got upgraded to ocean tower. Was great, definitely better than the Westin which I stayed in too. Service is way better, room was way better ( although this one was a better upgrade than by the Westin). I would stay there even for the resort tower. The walk is a walkway above the street, it’s nothing. If you’re going with kids, the kiddie park by the Ritz is great! Some ppl prefer the Westin for the beach but I didn’t see that.

What did you do about food? Does the Ritz give you an extra fridge? What about a microwave? Going soon and will probably bring pomegranate meals but just want to see my best options.

There is a Chabad as well. I believe they offer Shaabat meals.

Depending on your level on kashrut, ritz is aware of kosher. The chef will open an brand new pan for you + new utensils for eggs in the morning .

No pics sorry, and too lazy to write a TR. More than happy to answer any questions though.

Brought all my own food. There was a mini fridge full with the mini bar (in the ritz, in the Westin was just an empty mini fridge), but I just emptied it and put everything back before I left (no sensors, there are some pros to old fashioned places). I brought a sandwich maker which also worked great to cook my eggs that I bought there. The groceries have everything you’ll find in a local shop rite here (albeit a little more expensive). Officially one of the groceries has kosher cold cuts but I didn’t see it.

They offered me free breakfast. I think I had some sort of lounge access, not totally sure to be honest.

Thinking about it now it could be I’m mixing it up, maybe they only offered me breakfast at the Westin, sorry. Didn’t try the pool by the resort tower, the one by the ocean was cold but enjoyed it in the 85 degree weather.

A bit ridiculous in my opinion but the Ritz charges $25 each for a fridge and microwave per day in addition to there already steep resort fees at $85 a night. They also charge around $36 plus service per person per meal to heat up food.

I have yet to pay for a fridge at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Microwave is a bit harder I’m assuming although I’ve never needed one
