i know this is JS so I am prepared to take my lumps but also hope for some serious advice.

looking to go from Times Square area to:
Jersey Gardens
651 Kapkowski Road
Elizabeth, NJ 07201
and
Carlo's Bakery
95 Washington Street
Hoboken, New Jersey 07030

is it best to just rent a car for the day? is public transportation feasible or a good idea?

any concentration of DDF members in this area?

Rent a car IMHO. but then again u might be able to take a train to newark then from there to elizabeth.
