I never understood this, if passports are no good withing 6 months of expiration then essentially it expires 6 months before the date printed?
Biggest myth in town

Biggest myth in town
Not a myth just doesn’t apply to many (most) countries. (Even those countries it doesn’t apply to is because the validity is extended 6 mo so @stooges44 isnt such a stooge)

Now I'm confused, if my kids passport is expiring within 6 months of my planned trip I can still use it?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I flew to Israel and back back home last year with my daughter's passport expiring in less than 6 months and they didn't even blink.

Would someone trying to fly to Canada from Israel with a Canadian passport that expires within 6 months have an issue?

ElAl doesn’t fly direct so there would be a stopover in the US.

Can a dual US-Canadian citizen exit and re-enter the US with a Canadian passport (US passport expired)? A quick Google search seems like officially not. Is it enforced? Any DPs greatly appreciated.

I don't see why they wouldn't let you in. Even if your just Canadian you'd be fine.

ETA
Seems like officially you need it, never heard of anyone having an issue
