Tefillin lost on airplanes - Hashovos Aveida

Lots of pairs of tefillin found on planes all over the world. (looked for duplicate threads, sorry if there is one)
from the email:

We found Tefillin!!! People are missing their tefillin!

Most were probably left on airplanes or at airports.

Please send on all around the world and if these tefillin are yours please email pillows123@gmail.com to claim them!

Did the airlines hold on to them till the owners came forward or do they give it to some org ?

No.  There is a store in Alabama that gets the lost luggage from airlines,  and sells them.

A frum guy stopped in the store last week,  and saw a bunch of tefillin for sale. He bought all the pairs they had at  $45 a peice.
