Also as a tourist destination Eilat would be bottom of my list of European resorts, the infrastructure is just woeful
Are you talking about the infrastructure at the airport or Eilat in general?
If the former, then do you really pick your vacation destanations based on the airports infrastructure?

I didn't say none of the restaurants say "kosher" on them...
Rabbanut is not a reliable hechser, and if someone cares enough to ask about it them ita not for you

Depends on who you trust and hold by. Rabbanim in a Yeshiva that I respect told me that Cafe Cafe and Big Apple are fine.

Regardless of whether you have inside info that an establishment is acceptable (which is a separate argument), my statement still stands

No inside info that I know of. The Rabbi asked said that Hechsher is fine. (I believe it's Rabbanut Eilat Mehadrin?) He only listed those stores as examples.

I had similar experience, rabbanut mehadrin can be trusted on a case by case with rabbis in the know. R Emkay, I think when you say "reliable" u mean "stringent as to top standards". (Not saying R emkay is wrong with answering to a higher authority).
From what I was told, Rabbanut reliably follows the (more minimal) standards it says it follows, and mehadrins for milchigs are usually pretty decent and comparable to many us hechsherim that most non-chareidim trust, though I'm sure there are rabbis who say neither are good.
as to non-mehadrins/hotel breakfasts, back in the day, I would ask to speak with the relevant mashgiach and if he seemed like a trustworthy guy and told me where the relevant foods came from, I had no reason not to believe him.

Yes.
The one in Ice mall is beit yosef but the one in mul hayam is rabanut.. (could be mehadrin, not sure)
The one in the ice mall was Rabbanut Eilat Mehadrin when I was there. There was a guy handing out coupons for it on the bridge connecting the hotels to the beach and he kept screaming out that it was Rabbanut Mehadrin. (And, yes, I obviously did not just rely on him but checked the hashgacha.)
