and what the best option to credit miles from one airline to another partner award airlines? wasn't able to do it on air berlins website for advantage had to go on americans website in order to work? do you have to do that all the time go on partner airlines website in order to have mileage credited?

On the base fare, maybe a lot of it were YQ and not eligible for miles?

yes you get 5 miles per dollar for every dollar spent on the base fare
