Dead Sea... which side?
« on: November 30, 2010, 04:13:14 AM »
Which side would you recommend staying at? Boarder crossing close at 9pm from what I hear. Jordanian side is about half the price... but it sounds like it will be an extra 30% in fees... making the Israeli side much more value for money, eh?

I can think of several things wrong with this property and I am not (yet) part of Neturai Kartah.

If you want to stay in a true Luxury resort, the Jordanian side has several. 3 stars is the best you'll get on the Israeli side with 1 star service. It all depends on what your standards/budget are.

Hell no. I plan on taking an Israeli flag and beach towel with me and mark my territory.

I can get the Holiday Inn on the Jordanian side for under $80 per night excluding Jordanian taxes. The Israeli side would cost a minium of $250 per night. It is not like the businesses on the Israeli side are ran by Jews.

I have never been to the Dead Sea before. Do you know how far the boarder crossing is from the Dead Sea? I'll be asking my friend who has done it before next week if you don't know.

Am I the only one that thinks you're you're not missing much?

You won't want to be in the Dead Sea for more than a couple minutes...it stings like hell!

They are called personal belongings, religious articles, etc.

How about creating huge tfillin shaped bags, so that we can now take one additional carry on for free.

If you stay on the Jordanian side, are Jordanian companies making money off your stay?

Not at the rates I'm paying unless the rooms really do cost them next to nothing.

I think someone invented the suitcase coat for that purpose already. Not only an additional carry on but a whole suitcase. Great for easyjet I hear.

Save for airlines, companies generally aren't in business to lose money.
