Jfk-lhr options are BA or VA premium economy which one is better ?
BA J no question. Of course VS premium economy is a whole lot better than Y but its a its a little more space, reclines nicely and you have room to breath, but BA J is a lie flat business class seat.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

I would love BA J but no avail.
Need to go 11/24 in the evening.
Other option would be to plan B it from ewr.

No lounge, smaller plane.
Says who a smaller plane is a disadvantage?

So, you would rather spend roughly 2 hours in traffic for free booze??? Who needs a lounge when you can arrive 20 minutes prior  to flight time. Bag drop closes only 20 minutes prior to flight!

You found award availability on the jfk-lcy route?
Yes, there's lots of availability on that route. I've booked many a times. But, as Dan says, BA kills you with the YQ.

Zero flexibility there? There's availability the days before and after.

But why isn't BAs hefty YQ a factor here?
Well I am flying JFK-BUD, and I want to go SQ J, or BA F, SQ J is 65k SQ + around $281 in fees, and if I book on BA for 80K and using the companion with some one it would be 40k + $490, so I guess it would pay if I would do it this way.

I only flew SQ J on the A345 in a bulkhead and had the whole rear cabin to myself, but it was heaven for 19 hours.
Better than most F classes without a doubt.

Soft and hard products were awesome.

Then again I flew SQ Y and had a row of 5 seats. Food and soft product were some of the best I ever had, was way better than most J cabins :D

BA soft product is a notoriously mixed bag. Though F is F, this is true. But why isn't BAs hefty YQ a factor here?
"Better than most first classes?"

Which most would that be?

Surely, you jest.

We liked it. But it's more about the relative value.

If LH F was to not open up for VIE-JFK via FRA (when Ill need it), what would my best options be considering (a) product and (b) YQ? (assuming I book via AC as that seems to be the overall better deal for this scenarios sake)

It seems that the options are:

OS J [767-300 (Extra bonus:direct)] + $305
LH J (747-8/A-330) + $324
TK J (A330) + $89
LO J (788) + $197

I furthermore saw the following as an option and was wondering if for $90 CAD I could call AC to ask to change this to J/F for the SQ26 leg. Not sure if possible at all but thats why I am asking you guys [(or will post in AC thread) Also, please ignore the date listed in the screenshot].

Won't be able to book SQ J on a380.

If you value direct, definitely OS, as it's a good product.

Otherwise, I'd say TK J.

Won't be able to book SQ J on a380.

Not the most important as I am currently waitlisted on SQ25 R on the inbound anyways (trip 95% only happening if this clears).

If you value direct, definitely OS, as it's a good product.

Otherwise, I'd say TK J.

The outbound would be on MLK - Day so I really have all day to get back and while direct is nice, it isn't necessary.

Is OS J > TK J only because of the non-stop component?
Is TK J > the others only because YQ is less?

Just trying to better understand the decision making process.

If you don't assign a $200+ premium to fly nonstop on OS, fly TK.

Though not the same product, they're comparable enough that there's no *clear* winner.

LY J 747- Where should I sit?

Upstairs or downstairs and take row 10, the single row of J behind F.
Anyone familiar?
