How much better is Etihad F over J on the A380?
Umm, way better. Apt vs studio.

I have a flight in J in late March, just after the deval. Waiting for F to open up... Trying to figure out at what point I should throw in the towel and use the miles to book some other J or F award before the MAAsacre...

J is good if F isn't available, better than J on EY 77L or Jetihad 77J.

This touches on something I kinda asked in another thread, but I would love to hear people's thoughts on what the best products to fly with kids. For instance, SQ R is great for couples, does it get downgraded if you're travelling with a toddler? Does QR J A350 maintain its allure when travelling with a toddler, or does its privacy ding its value?
Not sure the question. Almost all F or J is downgraded when traveling with an infant. Even if the kid is great, you are always going to be needing to pay attention to them and make sure they are fed/diaper changed etc.

My 2 best products when flying with an infant were with KE and CX. KE because the cabin was and is usually mostly empty, so she didn't bother so many pax and CX because the seat is just so wide and she had tons of room to play around with out going into the aisles.

Hope that answers your question.

I'm not talking about a lap infant, I'm taking about a toddler in their own seat.

Obviously it gets downgraded, but I'm taking about in relation to other products. So let's say you rate SQ R the best product, but when traveling with a toddler you say LH F is better.

It depends on the toddler and if they are able to be occupied the whole time.

Still don't see how a toddler would make one product better then a different  product.

What I'm saying seems pretty straight forward to me.

If you're traveling alone then the most privacy you get, the better, no? But if you are traveling with someone, you want to be able to talk to them at least, right? Now, add a child to the mix. More than talk to them, you want to be able to put him to sleep and "deal" with him on the flight.

So, based on that, certain products may get downgraded, and other products would get an upgraded rank.

For instance, VS J uses a herringbone layout, which looks appealing to my anti-social self. I wouldn't want to travel with my wife on such a layout, and certainly not with a kid.

If there's a schedule change that would make a connection invalid, would an AA booked award be able to rebook me from the EY 77W to the EY A380 even if EY isn't releasing award seats at the time?

EY would reaccomadate you if it was their schedule change.

Ah well, it's basically moot now that AUH-LAX opened up in F. Good to know though. The main reason I was asking is because often if you call the airline operating the flight to make a change to the ticket booked with another airline they just refer you back to the airline who booked the ticket.

That's only with a generic schedule change. Not a schedule change that results in an invalid connection.

Thanks, that helps clarify. It seems from the seat map that some seats are facing backwards, does that make any sense? It seems to be AA metal, not BA... Flight 106
