Anyone have experience flying business (in this case to israel on united polaris couples middle seats) with kids in coach? we have a 15, 14 and 7 year old and are thinking of leaving them in coach, but i will probably sleep the first 5 hours and then go back and try to switch with the 7 year old to get him to sleep. would this be a real issue if we explain/ask nicely?

From what I see you cannot rely that they will allow if you ask, in general they don't want people switching

I flew JFK-TLV on AA 777-200ER which was old and had back to back seats, which was really unpleasant as I could feel every time the guy behind me moved his seat. TLV-JFK was 777-200 which had a newer configuration, definitely nicer than what I had for the outbound.

Also experience at check-in seemed like a throwback to the 1990s.

Soft product is..... AA ('nuff said). Restrooms considerably better than DL (which was the most outstanding part, in a negative way, of the DL hard product).
