I never flew on LX but I did fly OS's new J and it was very nice but I would definitely take two segments in real J over it, especially because from pictures it seems like LX J is very similar. After an 8 hour flight you really don't want to get on a fake J and end off the trip like that. It's a long flight.

How's that even a question? Option 1.

For some reason when I looked before, I found the wrong pictures for LX J so OS looked much nicer. That was why I asked. After finding the right pictures, it does seem that they're very similar.

And for what it's worth, I felt that the flight attendants were giving nice service to the Austrians and were very cold to us.

And I know of at least 10 examples that would state the opposite so I wouldn't conclude anything about the airline from one potential service.

Which one should I choose?

1) JFK-ZRH-TLV in J (LX) and both flights on A330 (real J)

or

2) JFK-VIE-TLV in J (OS) but first leg on 767 (real J) and second leg on A321 so basically Y with middle seat blocked off.

Pros of Option 1: Real J on both legs.
Pros of Option 2: From a quick look at the reviews, OS's new J is supposedly great.

If you are booking with kris flyer the fuel on OS became CRAZY !!!! $550 each way.  (I think this happened the past month)

Possibly (though they may just waive the change fee), but you can't expect to need one. And I'd ask a rov about forging a doctor's note.
