help solve my problem... Can't hear with Earphones, but the Mic works perfectly.

This past week, when I plug my earphones (with mic) into my nexus 4 phone, the mic works but I can not hear anyone talking. But they hear me perfectly.

Is it a setting in the phone or bug with the update?

I really think it's not the earphones itself...

A friend of mine had a similar issue and I replaced his. If it was a problem with the hardware in the Nexus, then why would the mic work but not the ear piece?
