This incident had nothing to do with Malaysian Airlines. It could have happened to anybody.
The last one was either foul play, or pilot error - both related to the airline.

And I think Dan's comment was not a rational one but an emotional one
MH370 may or may not have anything to do with the airline, but the airline's and country's response was utterly incompetent.
Incompetent enough to make me avoid the airline.

I'm not sure I agree. Although I'd probably try to avoid them if I could (though I acknowledge that is irrational based on what we know about the most recent event), I'd fly them if I didn't have a better alternative.

Well well... still looks like they have some pretty loyal fans.

They'll need them if they're to stay in business.  They were bleeding money even before MH370.

So stop flying
There was a no fly zone under 32,000 feet. The jet was at 33,000 feet.
Maybe we should impose a no fly zone anywhere where there are missiles

You mean stop flying over or near war zones.

Little chance of getting to the bottom of it. Armed militiamen are controlling the crash site. A group of international monitors arrived but the rebels didn't allow most of them near the site. The black boxes are gone & surely the missile debris was removed as well.

You can detect traces of explosives from other parts of the plane.

MH?

You have any idea how hard it is to find the proverbial needle in a haystack? I'm not sure any other airline would have had an easier time finding the plane.

I mean following one angle for a month & then starting from scratch & following a different angle & then a few weeks later going back to angle 1.

Not if they don't let any knowledgeable people near the scene. & people have been taking things away.

Again, I don't see how any other airline would have done it differently. Everyone reviewed that data put out by Inmarsat, and everybody seemed to agree (at least superficially) that the course that was taken was the most practical.

Easy to judge as an armchair quarterback.

Sounds like good luck to me. Although I wouldn't get on to any flight that he's scheduled to fly with.

Crazy.
Though I don't know anyone that was on MH370 and still wouldn't have flown MH even if it was free after that craziness...
+1. I also don't fly AA and UA since 9/11

They've got a pretty good record since then.

Malaysian investigators or US investigators should have gone in there with a small army of blackwater agents & done their job. Blackwater would've taken care of any rebels in the way. This is a disgrace to the victims & it's near impossible to do a real investigation at this point.

Blackwater?!?!?! They probably would've gotten bored and decided to massacre a bunch of civilians.

Why exactly do you think the US should be putting troops or mercenaries on the ground after a crash of 1. A Malaysian plane in 2. Ukrainian airspace 3. That had a single US citizen on board, who wasn't traveling on a US passport? That would cause nothing but trouble- perhaps dragging the US into yet another war.
