Soo Ive been busy last few months and had 1800 sitting in gc's so I unloaded them to sqaure this morning thinking I'll just take the hit. Account shut down this afternoon and funds frozen for 5 montha minimum. Anyone have any ideas? I tossed the cards so no way to refund.

"You also may not use the Services to process cash advances." this is the only statement i see where I violated the terms. it never says that they are able to hold my funds for 5 months.

any idea how they get away with that? I emailed the AG for the hell of it

Square shut my account. Apparently I'm in a risky business. My only issue is that there holding my money for 90 days. I can't even call to vent bec they will not give a customer code online. Bunch of Idiots!!!

Square shut me down as well. I have like $800 on hold. The CC were sunnies from walmart so I don't think I can
refund them. I am in the process of trying to refund $1.00 to one but I am not holding my breath.....
any ideas other than waiting the 90 to ??? days...? Here is the email I received...

 
 
We're sorry to inform you that we are deactivating your account. We reviewed your account and found transaction types prohibited by Section 47 of the Square Seller Agreement.
 
We regret that, starting today, you will no longer be able to process transactions using Square.
 
Due to the unusual or high risk activity associated with your account, your outstanding Square balance will be reserved for up to 180 days (but no less than 90 days), unless circumstances require that we extend this reserve period. If you do not want us to reserve your funds, you may refund the payment back to the cardholder account.
 
We appreciate your having chosen Square and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
