IME  if you take it slow you should be alright. Maybe dont use the account when its new as it seems new accounts are under more scrutiny.

Square shut me down as well. I have like $800 on hold. The CC were sunnies from walmart so I don't think I can
refund them. I am in the process of trying to refund $1.00 to one but I am not holding my breath.....
any ideas other than waiting the 90 to ??? days...? Here is the email I received...

 
 
We're sorry to inform you that we are deactivating your account. We reviewed your account and found transaction types prohibited by Section 47 of the Square Seller Agreement.
 
We regret that, starting today, you will no longer be able to process transactions using Square.
 
Due to the unusual or high risk activity associated with your account, your outstanding Square balance will be reserved for up to 180 days (but no less than 90 days), unless circumstances require that we extend this reserve period. If you do not want us to reserve your funds, you may refund the payment back to the cardholder account.
 
We appreciate your having chosen Square and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Unbelievable...it worked..!! .. my balance on my sunnie now says $1.00...so the refund to
the card works... I just put in for the rest to be refunded and should, hopefully, have the
full amount in a couple of days... so there is a datapoint for all...

Full disclosure...I already knew I was pushing the envelope as I had gotten a warning the first time along with
this email below... I was just trying to use up the last free $1000 processing I had and didn't plan on using
square after this.... so YMMV... slow and sure in the beginning I believe is good advice...
