Just got one of these today. If I try it on my own CC (for like $1), is that a red flag. If so, any other way to try it without waiting for a customer?

A $1 test is not a red flag

Anyone have a contact at Square to resolve a financial hold? Their customer service is horrendous and they are limiting me to $2k of processing per week! Not sure how a business is supposed to grow with such limitations...

Any insights into how long it takes to receive money sent via invoice?

I usually get it within 48 hours.

I'm looking to process around $200 a month in credit card transactions (keyed or invoiced, not swiped). Currently Square is 3.5% + 0.15 and Quickbooks is 3.5% + 0.30. Is there a better, cheaper option than these? Any preference Square or Quickbooks (already using Quickbooks Desktop for the books)?

For $200 a month I do not know of any. I'll go with your preference of the 2.

Square is easy to use, probably ideal for you. Though tbh I haven’t used QuickBooks.
