What kind of info (proof/documents etc.) do they ask for when signing up with a business name, and does it have to be connected to a business checking account with the same name?

When you say a business account, do you mean a business name?
Was an answer enough, or they wanted proof too?

Was a business name, when they ask you what type of account it is, I put in business.
I gave them a simple answer for their question, but now they emailed me that they want more info, like a receipt for my first transaction, IRS EIN approval, Cert of Incorp, etc.

would that be the case for an LLC as well?

Usually they wouldn't even request this info for business account, I think by me it got triggered because my first 2 transactions got declined.
Dunno!?!

lechorah yes. Of course they can tell. Question is if amex can tell you're the merchant. Square will block u if u use ur own card a lot so make an AU.
The bigger question is what happens if u charge $100000, on cc's that give enough points to make it worth 2.75%. I know Sq. Audits accts that charge over 1000/wk... Anyone?
Has it been confirmed that swiping a card that's linked to my account, but is an AU card with a diff name/ cc# will NOT raise flags with the CC company/Square?

My wife and I opened accounts, and we swiped our cards on each other's account. We did this with over $15,000, on each account with no problem.

Be careful through about using gift cards. I was trying to finish off a bunch of gift cards from the gift chain and I ended up swiping one of the cards several times because I forgot what was on it. The 3 or 4 declines trigged an audit about the multiple gift cards, they sent a list of 15 questions or so, and when I couldn't provide them the answers to their satisfaction, they simple shut down both accounts since "swiping gift cards multiple gift cards are against the T&C".

So I wouldn't worry about using the Authorized Users, but be careful not to get declined authorizations or using to many Gift Cards.

Any updates about using this in Israel?
It won't even let me download the app in Android since I'm located here. It doesn't show up in the Marketplace.

Is there anything like this that will work through my laptop USB?  I don't have or want a smartphone and I don't plan on getting a tablet anytime soon.

Does anyone know if changing the bank account on file while there is a pending transfer from Square to the bank can negatively affect anything?
