So which hotel do you recommend for a couple, honeymoon type very close to Monsey? Thanks!

I stayed at Crowne Plaza once. It was fine.

Hilton Pearl River is probably nicer though.

I just came back from a 2 night stay there with my family, we had a great time would definitely go back. We did not have any of the issues you mention, on the contrary the staff was very nice pool was clean. Though the rooms were on the smaller side, but they were clean and nice.
