so i actually was talking about rockland kosher, evergreen, redelicios, mottys, all fresh, monsey glat, wesley kosher etc.
in monsey there is no small groceries there is only big ones, so i'm saying that he should leave the market for the local big ones

but then free market, so i can't be to upset
Is red delicious that big?
Those are local + offer delivery. they may take a minor hit but I'd imagine people stick to them for some stuff while going to bingo periodically to stock up.
Most of the stores are overcrowded so they may be fine with new player.

so redelicioios isn't "BIG", but isn't a corner grocery,
and you are right that people will mostly go just for stocking up to Bingo, and that's what Bingo wants, that's there target clients, who do you think will loose from this all the other groceries, because you used to do both in {fill in the name} grocery and now you'll only do half or 3/4 of the shopping over there
I'm going crazy, wanna come along?

And you dont think they are large enough to not really feel the difference?

Prices are uniformly expensive in Monsey. This will bring a price war. Good. Evergreen and RK owners are fabulously wealthy and can absorb the hit from competition bh.
People in Monsey travel to Costco and target as is. This will be another stop in the area, besides that with cheap enough pricing everyone will get there.

there's also costco, shoprite, target, walmart, stop & shop... the people who want to shop around for the best price on everything probably already do

Sounds good. My point is that bingo may not be taking customers from the local supermarkets, they may be taking customers from chain stores where people already go to stock up.

No way.
what do people already buy in these chain stores? Fruits, Vegetables, cheese and grape juice. you can't compare that to a full fledged kosher supermarket.

Bingo is going to take away a lot of business from others.

They will have to compete with pricing, honestly i would stick to Rockland, bingos products (meat fish etc...) are crap but i would go once in a blue moon to stock up on containers

1) The bingo effect will drive down prices in the local stores. The consumer wins.
2) Red Delicious won't really be effected. Their prices are higher than say Rockland. They have their customers and those customers aren't going to leave them. I feel the same way about Monsey Glatt.
3) People used to drive into Brooklyn to shop at bingo because of their prices. Therefore while no delivery is a hassle, the prices will offset and people would be okay with taking a larger taxi.
4) Not everyone in Monsey shops at non heimishe stores. Even the ones that do would prefer bingo because of the convenience of all kosher.
5) When you need to do a big shop, which what bingo is for, traffic doesn't play that big of a role. You need your items and you need to shop at a specific time. You going to go shopping even if you need wait in traffic a little longer.

Is it fair to say that most customers of Red Delicious, Newday, Wesley Kosher... choose those stores because of their location?
If so, Bingo won't affect them.
