Chase Ink Business Match to 70K Offer
« Reply #441 on: August 26, 2014, 11:58:11 AM »
I recently received my Chase Ink card with the 50K points bonus signup offer.  I wrote in to customer service requesting a match to the 70K offer that they were advertising at the Chase branches.  Their response was that the annual fee was waived for 50K offer so they wouldn't give me 70K points, but did agree to give me an extra 10K points when I reached the spending threshold.

Is this a HUCA situation (although not calling, just resending a new message), ask to pay $95 the first year for the extra points or just accept the 10K bonus and move on?

Thanks.

Here is their reply,

"Since your account has no annual fee for the first year,
we are unable to change the annual fee terms on your
account by billing the annual fee to your account because
of regulations. Regulations do not allow us to change the
annual fee terms of an account opened less than one year.

We are pleased to let you know that your account will not
be billed the $95 annual fee for the first year. This is
comparable to the additional 10,000 points you have
requested.

Please understand that we strive to ensure that our offers
are clear and once you are approved for the card, you
would receive the specific offer terms that are disclosed
when you applied. "

That

Thats what I figured, especially since 10K points would cost less than $95 by buying gift cards through staples.

Thanks.

But if you can get both its not a "bad deal" it's 10k on top of the max of $50K from office supplies

i got a targeted 70k in the mail. Already have the IP with a large credit line. I assume they wouldnt give me another under the same business, is my best bet to downgrade to a no fee card?
Which card would be best?

My first is sole proprietorship, what kind of new business do you mean? Same SSN just different focus? Do they allow that?

If you're doing that be prepared to answer questions about this new business.

Exactly - that's why I'm thinking better to downgrade current IP, and try to split the 20k CL to a new card. Same business, just for different expenses.

If I do that what should I downgrade to?

They asked me a lot of questions about my business. Hard to answer when you're not prepared. But I got through it.

I got a targeted 70K in the mail as well, for a business name i used on an INK i already closed. I currently have another INK under a new business name.

Any idea if being targeted as a business which had this card previously would mean less questions and easier approval? I have very good credit with chase, however every time i tried to get 2nd business card they would only approve if i closed first

Worked for me. Applied with the invitation code over the phone and followed up with recon and was approved with no questions about my business. First time that has happened since my first Ink (I'm up to five). I happened to call at 7:55pm (right before recon closes for the evening?) and the guy seemed to want to get me off the phone :).

Got a targeted offer for 70k in the mail, with the AF. Is there anyway to apply for this offer but still get the AF waived?

someone upthread had success getting the AF waived on the 70K offer by applying in branch.
