I took a tour guide and he was great.
You don't need one specifically if you have a car, but be prepared to climb up the rock with your car
Who was the guide? do you have contact info?

why not just take the cable car up
You won't be able to cover some interesting spots on the rock.
Ex. The old Jewish cemetery and many more.

I will try to find his card.
I remember that on his business card he lists TripAdvisor so he probably can be looked up there

im not trying to judge, but you find a random cemetery to be interesting as long as it's old?

Not at all!
It's the history behind it that I was fascinated.
I enjoyed seeing the remote location where people carried the deceased by hand up the rock etc.

I dont drive stick and the price for a manual is much higher, to rent it from thu- sun I would assume is about the same as taking a cab/private transfer.

Assuming that we just want to do the Rock ourselves, has anyone here gone down through the Nature Preserve and stopped at the various sites (like the Apes Den and St. Michael's cave) on the way down? About how long does it take.

Also, any update on the kosher situation in GIB? I know @Yehuda tried to eat at the "not really kosher" place from Google, but besides that, where's the best place to pick up lunch on Friday? We'll be coming from SVQ.
