YMMV on the border. We spent <1 minute driving through.
True, but I believe you were the exception not the rule.

That's exactly why I didn't request one. That and holding up the line longer didn't seem like a good idea.

None have a regular minyan. All are nice. Look up which things you'd like to see and decide that way.

Question: has anyone driven to La Linea, parked car there over Shabbos, and walked across border to GIB? Wondering if it is worthwhile to avoid the driving and parking hassles in GIB, as it seems very close (20-minute walk) from border to Elliott. Also seems like pedestrian crossing may be less likely to suffer delay at border, though the few posters above indicated they had no problems by car, either.

Thanks in advance.

I found parking at the Elliott to be easy enough. True, the streets of GIB to the hotel were tight and it took about 20 minutes to cross the boarder by car, but I think it was worth not schlepping suitcases for a 20 minute walk. Gibraltar is very hot and humid in the summer (not quite like Singapore, but still hot and humid), so it won't be a fun walk. Plus the sidewalks are very narrow or nonexistent making the walk that much harder. And that's not to mention the safety of the parking lots in Spain. I'd rather have my car in a private lot in the hotel than left there for 2 days.

Friend at shul told me today that the Jewish community of GIB is (one of the?) last to consider swordfish as kosher and, in fact, it is a traditional Friday night dinner.  Anyone with personal experience here? I can ask my LOR, but wondering if anyone has first-hand experience.

I googled and found this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiEiaajvtbNAhXCyoMKHbbCDAYQFgg1MAM&url=http%3A%2F%2Fhalachicadventures.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2009%2F09%2FMishpacha-mesoah-dinner.pdf&usg=AFQjCNEjRTPDTCRvPKe9O6FjWcJhY_Pakg&sig2=Hc2t24TMvzdwMJmm-aDp9A.

They eat a lot of fish but never heard of anyone there eating swordfish.
