She saw a pic of my wife without a sheital and asked me why
me: oh, that was before mommy and tatty got married
her: i see... that was when mommy was your mother. (nodding knowingly)

General question: At around what age do kids start talking? My son just turned 1 BH (I know that is early), and is continuously trying to talk and have conversation, but I can't wait for the day his talking evolves to actual words.

That is normal. First word is around one year old. A lot of jargon (babbling sounding like talking) at that age

Respond to him conversationally- like he is really saying something interesting. He should respond an babble back.  It's a really cute and exciting stage.
Even when the language hasn't developed yet, they begin communicating with gestures and sounds.  Pointing to interesting food or going to his coat.  Lots of excitement along with the work.

Also, make the effort to understand his intent, even if that seems like a long way away from happening. For my kids, this early pre-talking stage was very frustrating for them (and us) because they were trying to communicate and we often couldn't understand. The more successful communications you establish with him, the faster his language will grow.

My 3 year old just asked me to open a box of crayons, when I did it he says: Thanks Tatty, you're such a big helper...
I got a sticker from Rafi for sleeping nicely on our flight home from TLV :)
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I got a bunch of those pins when I was a kid.

They also used to give out airline-branded decks of cards if you asked.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

My 5 year old: Abba has a cell phone, Ema has a cell phone. I need a phone too. The house phone is my phone (good thing it's free from GV).

Now any opportunity she gets she uses the phone. I get a call at least once a day from her telling me that she loves me.
