I got a letter from amex to sign up for tha Extended Payment Option on my PremierGold card,(its basically a option to pay over time on purchases over $100 even though its only a charge card)
They are giving me 5000 bonus MR points if i enroll in the program

anybody got this offer? is there any downside to enroll?

No downside to enroll as long as you pay on time each month.

they ask for anuual income on enroll page & it does seem that they do a credit check. see below

" Extended Payment Option is one of the Pay Over time features we may offer. Not all Cardmembers are eligible to use Pay Over Time features. Requests to pay over time are approved based on several factors including account history, current account status and credit record at time of request. "

I enrolled a few months back and got 5000 bonus.

I know, sorry. The best option may be to call Amex, and request the 5K for "pay over time" offer. My understanding is that this offer will already show on most charge accounts, that have not already signed up for it during account set-up. If you signed up for "pay over time" during account set-up, then you won't be eligible, but you can call and cancel the "pay over time" feature, and you may later get the 5K offer via email, or you can call and try again.

Yup, I ca;;ed and said it's by invitation only. They also told me there's no credit pull (as they have your credit from the original application), but they might be wrong...

I was on the phone requesting the 50 K extra mileage match (which I got

). And the rep offered me the extended payment option. I asked him if there is a credit pull and he told me no.
I took the offer and got the points credited in 2 days.
I dont really know if he did a credit pull or not.
