she needs to build credit and thats a good first card to get that you cant get when you will be over 5/24
Build credit with AU, or with another Bank.
If you want the freedom, you downgrade the Sapphire even when over 5/24

The answer to 1 is yes. The answer to 2 is to apply for chase cards first then go to amex. I would start her off with a freedom, build her credit and then go to amex cards
The benefit of the Chase card is that there's no AF on first card,
But IME the AMEX Delta might be easier to get approved..

I want to move quickly enough to take advantage of the current Delta Amex bonus offer. Do you think that she already has credit based on being the co-obligor on the mortgage on our jointly owned house for many years. Her income information was included in our last refinance.

That should be good for Amex, as long as it's reported. Though not smart. Better value from Chase, unless you have an extra good use from the DL card

I would like the easy 60,000 or 70,000 bonus Skymiles miles, and frequently fly Delta. Does Chase offer a better sign up bonus?

50k UR on the Sapphires, has much better value then the DL cards, and the DL you can get later when over 5/24 these you won't be able to

She has a mortgage, and he can add her as an AU. Definitely big chance, even if it'll take a recon

She got it ! Instant answer on line. Delta Amex Gold, but only $2,000 CL. However, the offer is spend $2,000 in 3 months for 50,000 miles, and $50 statement credit after first purchase. Plus annual fee waived first year. Sounds good to me.

Just got  Targeted Delta cc offer via email for both Gold (60k) and Platinum (70k). There's No Lifetime Language.. Looks like Amex is starting to stick with the below language:

Terms & Conditions
+Additional Rates and Fees Apply

If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome bonus offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome bonus offer(s) that we did not intend for you; if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months after acquiring it; or if you cancel or return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount), we may not credit the welcome bonus to, we may freeze the welcome bonus credited to, or we may take away the welcome bonus from your account. We may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us.

Not uncommon with targeted emails. Still interesting. Can you make a link?
