End of the story....

I spent a ton of time with AA (even had my mom help from the US) and they agreed to let us go through Lima even though that was technically not allowed. So annoying when they just could have said yes to start with.

The extra days in Tahiti we spent in Moorea - which really is an incredible place. We found a small bed and breakfast type place with 5 huts and basically had a small private place right on the water.

I tried to get AA to pay for the accommodations - that did not work but it was all good in the end.

How would that work?

He paid for his rtw tix using miles, can't charge that back.

Taxes were paid with CC, but since he flew, I don't think he has grounds to get those back.

Chargeback the hotel? Why punish them for an issue with AA?
