seeking advice on which cards to get - credit score of 662
« on: July 23, 2016, 09:57:52 PM »
hi I have two questions:

1. which cards should I get to help build my credit?

2. which cards should I get that will give me a lot of points/miles?

My credit score is 662. Reasons hurting my credit are High credit usage, Short account history, No loan activity, and Short revolving history.

Edit: I have 3 credit cards, Chase Freedom, Bank of America Spirit, and Wells Fargo. I'm using around $4,700 out of $5000 on the Chase card, $1000 out of $4000 on the BoA card, and $1120 out of $1200 on the Wells Fargo card.

Is this a real credit score or a FAKO? Not that much difference for the purposes of this question of yours.
1) Work on your credit usage.  Over the next  month, pay each cc before it's billed - in it's entirety except for $5.  Then pay that $5 when you get the bill, which should be only $5 - not laden with new things charged that are due next month.  This will visibly raise your credit score.

In general, there are already threads that cover this topic: the following are some examples

You're maxed out on 2 cards. 90% is considered max.

Are you paying interest on these?

You should focus on paying your cards up before you think about getting new cards.
