Nasty PM's Master Thread

Got some nasty PM's out of the blue from some folks around here. These were unprovoked, and I've never PM'd or spoken to these members before. I think that these PM's should be in a hall of shame. There's no reason IMO that members can feel that they can be total jerks with immunity that their PM's won't get published.

You can get your point across without posting the contents of PM's. The quickest way to lose all respect and trust is to post PM's.

I actually had a similiar feeling yesterday when I checked my spam folder.

You can get your point across without posting the contents of PM's. The quickest way to lose all respect and trust is to post PM's.

That's my point. If someone sends unprovoked nasty PM's, then let them not trust that their PM's won't get posted.
Perhaps if the jerks know that their PM's will get posted, they won't send them in the first place.

Once you start posting PM's then no one will know where you draw the line. Trust goes out the window.

If someone is spamming people with PMs for no reason you should click on the "Report To Admin" button on the PM.

if you feel any pm's are  offensive then you can report it to a mod, it's against forum rules to harass people.

If you get the same type of PM's from a few different people you might want to take a step back and figure out why it happened.

Sounds like a really immature way to deal with the situation. Use the same method Dan suggests for main site deals you find offensive or inappropriate: Just skip it and get on with your life.

It's not always spam, sometimes it's just plain nasty.

Are they out of the blue or do they have to do with a post you made. As many have said the best is RTM.

It's not that big of a deal that it needs to be reported. It's just that why do these type of people need to feel that they can be jerks and that you have to be trusted to keep the PM private?

Same here. And i think those people defending the senders of the PMs are probably just feeling bad bc they are guilty of doing such stuff themselves. But the best advice is just to report to admin and move on with life.
