Their first time flying international business or first, first time to the far east, and first time to Israel since the mid-80s, longest amount of time my father has ever taken off of work...
Should be interesting if they survive all those flights.

Just the way the cookie crumbled.
Raison d'etre for the trip is a wedding in Israel, but flights are the tricky part with an inflexible schedule.

Your parents will be absolutely exhausted.

Frankly, I don't see them enjoying this, or anyone their age.

I'll still want to do that in my 50s.
So will you.

Only thin I might change would be to just stay in HKG.  But they wanted to see PEK as well and there are no flights out PEK on Saturday night that would connect to the LY flight so that's why they're splitting the time there.

Have you run this itinerary by them? Or is this a surprise?

On a serious note, I would never plan such trip for mi FIL because I know that flying is not his favorite thing, but I would definitely book it for my Father who loves flying. I am sure Dan knows his father, what he likes/enjoys and what not, and he had that in mind when booking them this itin.

While i agree it's probably too much, let's calm down a little. They are in their 50s, not 70s. They are not an "elderly couple"

And my father likes to move around like a 20 year old.  Some of you guys are funny, maybe you have older or less active parents?

In Y that itin is torture, in R/F/J I think it can be enjoyable.
Either way it was not a surprise.

They went to Israel and did the tourist stuff there when they got married.  And the only CX F flight to the far east is on Monday, so there's no way to get back until after shabbos and they need to be back home by the following Tuesday.

Didn't say they were elderly. I just implied they weren't 25 (which they're not).

Heck, even at 25, 12 different segments, over 25,000 miles, four destinations, in less than two weeks, would be tiring. Fun probably, but tiring.

But, hey, if they're up for it...

Y would be torture, but for ppl who don't enjoy the flying experience, (ie lines, delays, impact of flights and time zone changes on the body), even J/F won't help all that much.

Just make sure they're awake for the wedding. Would be a pity if their bodies are messed up from the time zones and they can't enjoy themselves.
