Agree with you on the outbound. Hoping for JFK to open up but I figured I'd snag what was bookable for now.

Don't even ask about the positioning flights. I'll need 5 additional flights to get kids dropped off, wife and myself to IAH and wife back to the kids and have them all return back home.

How much for IAD DXB F? and with what currency?.

80k SPG like Benjie said. Wish I could've stretched it, but it didn't work out. No difference in points to fly the DXB-DOH segment on EK or QR but I hear that QR's regional narrowbodies are a lot nicer than EK's regional widebodies.

Must've set some kind of record with the phone call to AA to book QR. Five minutes flat to book the award including phone tree and hold time- no elite status.

So far the current bookings have me in Singapore for close to an entire day and Tokyo for an entire day (overnight).

For Oz the schedule is not fully set yet but 3 days MEL, 4 days somewhere on the Northeast of Oz and 4 days SYD is what it looks like.

True. I should have noted that taxes on the award were $114 for 2 people. You don't exactly get out of the Canadian departure taxes just because it's an award ticket. That brings the points value down to 3.55cpp.

I had half a dozen F1s booked until the F2 that fit my travel/work schedule opened up. It did this morning. Snagged it on hold, and just exchanged my old tickets for it. Now time to get a few hundred thousand AA points back (maybe I'll try cancelling without redeposit for my next trip??? )

PHX-JFK on January 1 x4 for $6.50 CAD (on 3, the fourth was a $64 credit)

Indeed. One was for succos booking that changed and I no longer needed as I'm going to Israel. The other was fora flight a few weeks ago that my family was already in NY for (via another glitch booking). As I arrived at the airport my flight was delayed 90 minutes. Was able to get myself rebooked (on a flight to LGA instead of JFK) and cancel everyone else's ticket for rebooking
