Also how come EY see PG availability and AF don't see anything

You are saying you think they have different availability buckets?  I booked our HKG-USM PG flights with AF miles and I thought the process was really easy. You do have to call but they checked availability and let me hold the seats before I transferred the points.

I thought there was a non searchable fare class they book into and it’s the same for FB, JAL, EY, etc but I could be wrong.

Going to Israel next summer from LAX, 3 travelers:

Booked LAX-AMS on Delta in J (non-stop), staying in AMS for 2-3 days. 62,500 FB points pp
AMS-TLV still open for now, will likely use Chase points to buy an economy ticket unless KLM opens up more award seats on this leg.

Booked LX through ZRH in J on the return, for 80k United miles pp. Need to call them to see if I can book seats or need to wait until 24 hours OLCI. Seat options are pretty bad for non-elites. Could have saved miles by using a different Alliance airline with cheaper partner rates, but wanted to use my United miles.

I haven't flown LX before, or Delta internationally in J for that matter. Some conflicting reports here on LX, I'll post my experience to the ex-TLV thread.

I only have 70k Amex, vs. over 500k Chase UR. Good tip though to anyone booking a delta flight!

Yup. From their chart it would have been 65k VS/Chase UR, I ended up using 62,500 FB/Chase UR.

Club Europe on a 767 is the same crap as an A320, if not worse

You'll have to pay for a separate segment for that.

award hacker says can be booked as one flight- but I take this as incorrect.
Might change this up altogether
