I cannot find value in points with TLV as my destination ( from NYC) even when tickets are $929  ! Is this normal?

And yours does not belong here as well.

Only thing that belongs here is an award that you made. Not trying to find a good value

EWR-ATL-CUN First/Business

CUN-JFK Business

77.5K Delta

Over Christmastime when coach tickets were 70K, so decent value.

EWR-CUN in First and Business (stopover in ATL for 1 hr), CUN-JFK Business Direct, 77.5K Delta Total but over Christmastime when coach tickets were going for 70K.
Nothing from BA/AA?

Nothing from BA/AA?

Nothing with good times that didn't require 15 hour layovers, and nothing direct. Would rather use up Delta anyways.

Just realized they do have 1 direct flight on the way back for 20K BA, but nothing for any flights on the way there. Options seem to be keep my itinerary if I want Business/First, or I can fly 1 day earlier with a direct coach flight and just pay the $25 baggage fee.

So either 2 direct flights, 1 coach and 1 business, for 27.5K AA + 20K BA, or keep my current itinerary and spend 30K more.

Exactly, and it's 30k, not a little bit. Quite usable for something else.

True, but one way is also now coach instead of business/first.

Either way, switched everything, so now it's 27.5K direct flight coach to Cancun (plus 10% back with AA Aviator CC so really 24,750), and 20K Avios for direct flight back in Business. Not bad for over Christmas.

That sounds much better.
