Yow to phl on Usair with avios . I have been checking every day for a month and a half, and finally a seat opened. Cash price is 404 so after backing out the dumb taxes that I paid and are also included in the cash price,  I got a value of close to .08 per avios point

Well I was supposed to be flying the A321 to SFO and then JAL's new F to HND. Got to airport and found out the SFO flight was delayed and now booked on BA F to LHR and then HND. Was expecting to fly over the pacific, but this is an interesting change.

Def not an upgrade :(

Best thing about BA is the Hermoles meals. See if they can make sure you get it for the second leg

Since I booked into BA so recently, no food in this leg, but possibly the next leg.

Also, I got out on a revenue ticket and crediting AA for 150% :)

Yeah, but the silver lining here is that he earns miles on a revenue ticket.

At least you can get kosher in BA F lounge which was pretty good all things considered. Also, have BA in JFK book a Cabana for you in LHR.

Not sure if you're into status, but this is deff a good head start considering it's the beginning of January

Def not an upgrade, but being 1) able to fly BA F without YQ 2) earning 150% miles, I would say you came out ahead.

Still not sure why you didn't credit to AS, even if it's 25% less.

On points to redeem I will agree.
But for status?
I think aa has the best perks for top tier status holder's (for now)

I hear.
But if his ticket is a revenue ticket he would be almost aa platinum from this itinerary itself, so it might pay
