TLV-FRA-EWR for my mother in J on 4/7. 80k UA miles. Just missed getting her a LHR-JFK in BA F and a lounge cabana (I needed her to call in and change, but she was sleeping).

EWR-NRT in Y, NRT-HNL (open jaw) LIH-LAX-EWR in J at 100K UA miles x2 ppl.
(35K for outbound in Y, 65K for inbound J).
The J availability for hawaii -> nyc was hard to piece together, especially since I wanted to get a 24h stopover in LAX or SFO.
Spent 1/2 and hour on the phone with United getting that done. I booked the return on a different date with better availability, then had them change the HNL->EWR leg to the above routing.
And it turned out that the website was showing phantom J availability on some dates :(
Ended up doing the open jaw, so need to get an island hop - trying to decide whether a mileage ticket is worth it there (6k UA) or just buy it for $84.
Would Hawaiian charge for baggage for inter-island UA award flight?

No shtick.
The flights I wanted were all separately available on ua.com but not showing up on the combined search.
I booked the return in the right class (J), but with connection through ORD (which was all that the website was showing me), and then called to change the connection to a 23hr stopover in LAX using flights I already found separately.

Thanks!
Looks like hawaiian discounted baggage costs the same as island air non-discounted baggage ;)

Nice!

Just switched my mom from April 7th at 4 AM TLV-FRA-EWR to April 6th TLV-EWR direct on United. Only charged $50 change (is this due to being United Cardholder? Because she's not a silver member).

It's more than reasonable! But 40k --> 60k for J on AB hurts

That's for a regular adult ticket, infants are not really affected that much when using BA.

True, but it's not like the infants flying alone :)
Tomorrow the total increase just for that flight as a couple with two infants is 44k- still not the worst option out there but it stings a little

I can definitely agree with that.

But I'm still learning the ropes of child bookings- kids make everything more difficult/expensive- seems like a universal in every sugya

It definitely stings paying 10% of revenue for an infant on an F ticket, but as i have said before, cashback is perfect for paying these charges.
