I don't have the most experience using other programs, so today's booking was a first for me in a few ways. I booked my in laws LH in J from MIA-FRA-TLV for 80k united miles each using the work around to take off the $75 close in fee. The real deal for me was the way back, as I didn't have enough united/chase points. I transferred 165k Amex points to air canada to book 2 tix on LX J TLV-ZRH-JFK/EWR-MIA. The point was aero plan doesn't charge fuel surcharge on Swiss, while they do on Lufthansa.

Nice the FRA-TLV won't have real business but TLV-ZRH should have. And AC doesn't charge YQ on United either.

Just a tip... If you have SPG or LH points than you can book the return from Israel for 52,000 points + $270 in YQ about. Instead of 82,500 AC points.

Good to know. This time I needed the transfer immediately though, as the dates were in mid July, and I couldn't wait around for the spg transfer.
