Awesome!

You finally got a rep to see the space, or you canceled and rebooked online?

Rep saw it open. Space must have opened, because it wasn't showing in KVS (thanks lubaby) yesterday.

You aren't losing out by sitting in Y, technically it's the same seat as J, minus the blocked middle seat and no free drink

Just switched ATH-ZRH-EWR in J to ATH-FRA-EWR in YJ/F on LH.
Was able to get J for the first leg. Nothing special, but blocked middle seat and a J BP is enough for me.

Shweet. Will we get a TR?
Don't expect a TR - besides for the unlimited free wifi I can't think of anything to write home about.

Nothing bad, nothing out of the ordinary.

-Design is shockingly similar to OZ F.

-Free wifi is limited to 10 passengers on the plane. F/J pax have priority and Y is on first come first serve basis.

-Couple suite is not as private as SQ (even though FA told me I can do there "whatever you want").

-Very difficult communication with FAs as their English is very limited. (one FA asked me if she may ask me a personal question l. Is it true what she heard from friends that all Jews are very smart?
I told her that I actually know quite a few stupid Jews).

-Hard product is very comfortable and nice.

-Soft product is mediocre.

Even better- I didn't book it yet :)

All I have booked so far is ORD-HKG in CX J, and MEL-AUH EY F.
CX flight is with AS so totally cancellable, and EY is with AA so can change dates/times for free. So lots of flexibility.

HKG-SYD apparently has horrible availability, nothing on my dates or even close, but anyway it seems hit and miss with good reverse herringbone J vs old yucky J... HKG-ADL has availability AND has good J, but only 1 flight per day. Still waiting to decide if it's worth liquidating my last 12K SPG to AS to do this flight (I have 8K now) or figure out something else... Will probably just do the SPG route.

Okaaaaaay, Houston we have a problem.

Just found out that my wife is pregnant and due in July, right when our tickets are for. Hmm.

Prob is, EY F is through AA and I can only push of the flight for up to a year from when I booked it.

Obviously a nice problem to have, but definitely a monkey wrench in my plans.

Any ideas?

Fly earlier? Ask AA to waive redeposit fee? Get EXP?

Cancel and get fees waived? Go by yourself?

If he goes himself, he'll be going on many other vacations himself too  :-\

I'm traveling solo so I didn't get to use the double part of it, but it doesn't look as private as SQ does.

Not really worth it craving to fly this bird.
