There's about a 0% chance UA.bomb will show that online, search each leg separately and you can piece it together on the phone as 1 award.
OJ on a one way? Or you mean by adding also CDG-FRA?

Lots of YQ
Other *A partners without YQ charge waaayyyyy more miles (UA is 160k). He can sell a 2/3 of the leftover miles and cover YQ cost.

Did you already have B6 or did you need to transfer from MR and lose value?

Option 1:

CX: JFK-HKG-BKK as one award.

Under 24 hours in HKG and won't do too much in BKK bc I plan on leaving from BKK back home and would use the departure day in BKK to explore a bit. OTOH its a free flight to BKK.

Option 2:

CX: JFK-HKG (stop) for 1.5 days and then fly Dragon Air (7.5k Avios p/p) to CNX. Gives me a bit more time in HKG to see some stuff and then gets me straight to CNX. OTOH I don't get a free flight on CX J.

Which plane/configuration would it be?

Realize that its only a ~3 hour flight.

Moist likely would be the A330 with reverse Herringbone 1-2-1.

They also fly 77w with F on that route.

Weirdly only J shows up on BA when I search that but either way, for the flights I am taking, the A330 is the most likely flight to fit into the <24 hour window.

If by adding 1.5 days in HKG you are compromising your time in CNX/USM, I would ditch HKG entirely.

I am already on that side of the globe and you think there is not enough value in spending a bit of time in HKG? It'd be my first time there and I just feel like I wouldn't be milking the trip fully if I didn't at least go do something there. Then again, with only a week and a half, a full day extra in CNX/USM may be worth it. Seems that that is what you are hinting towards.

HKG is a good gateway city where you can/will fly through again.

A full week and half on the ground is enough time to add in HKG.

Ok. As it seems that I shouldn't sacrifice any minute in Thailand for a -already short- stop in a city Ill most likely get a chance to visit later on in life, I made some changes to get me to Thailand faster.

Hold #1

JFK-HKG-BKK leaving JFK at 2:50pm landing in HKG at 6:50pm and then continuing to BKK at 9:20pm landing in BKK at 11:10pm currently all in J.

Itll be a long day and a half of travel and Ill take a hotel for the night in BKK and then move to CNX the next morning via a cheap revenue ticket.

Hold #2

JFK-HKG-CNX leaving JFK at 10am landing in HKG at 2pm and then continuing to CNX at 3:25pm landing in CNX at 5:20pm currently with one seat in J and one in F and the HKG-CNX leg on Dragon Air in Economy.

Might be a bit of a tight connection and missing out on a 3hr leg in J but that way I basically gain around ~20 hours in CNX by going straight there.

Disclaimer: Dragon Air doesn't fly that route daily and not always at the same time so I just added the DragonAir flight to the leg on which I'd be able to take them the same day I land in HKG.
