I like Option 2 (unless you get much out of an overnight in ICN in Option 1) if trying new products and getting back quickest without having to wake up early is the goal. Option 4 sounds good if you'll be in the Gold or Sunshine Coasts, but if you'll be in SIN or MEL you'll need to add a segment making it an extra stop. However, if the goal is to burn AA pre-deval and not get back the quickest (or just to try another EY product).

The plan is to spend the last of couple days in CNS/PTI, and BNE is the closest major airport.

True, but it's still another connection, albeit a necessary one. To be fair it should be included like the flight to ORD from wherever in the US.

On Hold. Can route back in J on QR or in Y/Apartments on EY. Total travel time and quality of cabin is decent (particularly routing on QR, considering options generally to the Maldives)

I'd go with return option 2. 4 hours in Y is a small price to pay for EY Apt, plus J can open up.

Which one?

Option 1.
SYD-ICN = KE F a330-300
ICN-ORD = KE F 77w 2.0

Depart SYD Wednesday 745am - (overnight in ICN) - Arrive ORD Thursday 925am.
Option 1. I'm not one for taking extra legs, although I haven't flown in an F cabin yet. While Yehoshua recently taught me how EY Apt is different than F class, I still don't know the different intracicies of what makes 1 F better than another. So, to me, I would get home quickly in a premium cabin. That probably doesn't apply to you, but figured I would give my input.

AA. Its 70k p/p in F and the taxes are insane. Over $200 p/p.
If you connect from another country you can avoid the APD.

So, in short, I recommend the lobotomy. Sure, I'm not a doctor, don't know the difference between a headache and an aneurysm, but I figure efficiency is key, so we remove the brain, and away goes the headache!

How much would you really accomplish in a morning (leave for airport around 1?)...

Oy. He asked for my opinion. I chimed in. Get home. Quickly. Comfortably.

So no car in AUH, but yes in SIN/JFK.  Have your wife call Mrs. AJK, she'll convince her. She managed to convince Mrs. Rots to.

Ah, yes, forgot about the new rates. I assume your trip is post deval? Yeah, then you better work on your charm... or have a really cute kid.
Does Mrs. AJK do wife webinars?
