Not sure, but I would venture that you may have an issue with TLV-DOH or TLV-AUH on RJ&QR or RJ&EY respectively.

Of course.  Those are entirely different itineraries.  Apples and oranges.
Point being?
Point being that you're missing my point. Those are both part of the same itinerary of yours, just that you're adding on the legs differently.

Maybe they consider AMM-CAI-AUH backtracking?

Backtracking isn't coded in AA's computers. It's up to an individual agent to decide on there own, and to not allow it (which IME they rarely do). If you happen to get an agent that doesn't allow a routing because of backtracking, you can just HUCA.

IIRC it was originating in AMM, but maybe it was TLV-AMM-CAI-AUH-JFK-PHX-SFO.  Do you think that changes the MPM significantly? Really baffled how agent only mentioned MPM.

Ding ding ding. Exceeds mpm at JFK (if all segment must be within), although total is within 6.

Wow.  Thank you.  Within 6 miles?
If so, it could work if using Avios TLV-AMM as separate award, right?

They say a published routing is a requirement for AA, although I can't say that I am entirely sure what that means.

That changed a long time ago already.

Nice. Good to know.

Even though it might be an official rule, in practice it's not enforced any more.

Back on hold. Have to drop the kids off in YYZ on Sunday and pick them up the following Monday night before heading back to New York first thing Tuesday morning.

NYC-YYZ - TBD Friday or Sunday

AA YYZ-LGA/JFK TBD Sunday night or Monday morning

ETIHAD AIRWAYS    102    JFK-AUH     Monday
3:00 PM    AUH Abu Dhabi
12:00 PM+1    First    380

Overnight in AUH

ETIHAD AIRWAYS    278    AUH -MLE   Wednesday
09:05 AM
02:40 PM    Business    320

4 nights in MLE

ETIHAD AIRWAYS    279    MLE -AUH    Sunday
07:40 PM
11:00 PM    Business    320

ETIHAD AIRWAYS    101    AUH -JFK   Monday
09:30 AM
03:45 PM    First    777 (Jetihad)

LGA-YYZ Monday TBD:

free Delta tickets at 6:15 am on Tuesday morning YYZ-JFK

Should I (i) book the above (and hope that two of the six F seats remaining on EY 103 open up closer in) or (ii) return on QR in J to JFK (arriving 3:00pm) or EY in J to ORD (arriving 9:50am)  to keep more possibilities open of an earlier arrival back stateside. There are also two F seats to IAD, but that flight gets in to DC pretty late (4:00pm) with no easy connections to YYZ on AA anyways.  I'm sure we will be exhausted by the time we get to YYZ.

All the way to MLE and staying at PH??

Anyway, I'd stick with Jetihad F over downgrading to QR/EY J and hope 103 opens.

And, yes, you'll be spent when you get to YYZ.

It's a place holder for the four nights until I have a chance to get in touch with a good travel agent for deals at other properties. Conrad has no availability on awards (at the moment) for my dates.
I also reserved:
1) an "Over Water Vila - Full Board" at http://www.gangehi.com/portfolio-normal-layout/overwater-villa/ for $906.32 USD total including tax +$425 (x2) sea plane
2) a "VIP Pool Villa" at http://www.shangri-la.com/male/villingiliresort/rooms-suites/villas/pool-villa/ through Amex FHR on a fourth night free basis that comes to $1829 for four nights. Will reach out to them to see what upgrades are available for FHR stays.

Anyway, I'd stick with Jetihad F over downgrading to QR/EY J and hope 103 opens.
Will be calling every half hour day to switch it.

And, yes, you'll be spent when you get to YYZ.
...and even more so once we pick up the kids and get up for a 6am flight.
