RT JFK-MAD in J lie flat 777/200
105k AA miles x2    March 28th-April 5th
Hopefully Ill get the zodiac seats and not the B/E aerospace shaky seats fingers crossed. Is there a way to tell which one I'm getting?
But overall I think its a great use of about to expire AA miles.
WebSpecial? Its usually 57.5k each way.

Also Just donate some miles or buy magazines to extend expiration.

Den-IAD-LIS-TLV J  on TAP (lie flat from LIS-TLV)
TLV-EWR Y on UA

Dec. 9-20 (Hannukah)

84.5k ANA and 8350 Yen (about $75)

Almost impossible for me to get 1stop in J from Denver so I was just happy to find this with lie flat all the way to Israel and wanted to let people know TAP has NO fuel fees and great availability from a number of cities. This was less points than a one-way on United!
Do they charge you a J class for entire trip?

Half of each.

Half of each.
So they just require you to end up in the same origin regardless of class?
and will only charge the actual class flown for each leg?

ANA requires a RT booking but only charges you for the class you fly each way. They have I think the best star alliance multi-class, multi-city search engine and they are transferable from AMEX.  You do NOT have to start and end in the same place. I’m starting in Denver and ending in EWR (I’ll just buy a separate ticket EWR-DEN).  If both ways were in J it would have been 104k total (also a smokin’ deal). The problem with ANA is the fuel fees. United Saver is almost non-existent so I think TAP is the next best booking as far as lie flat the whole way and no fees (others can feel free to disagree). LOT Polish also has low fees and Turkish has lie flat all the way to TLV with higher fees but are still reasonable. The other European airlines’ fees are outrageous.

I was aware of the RT requirement and of the country destination thingy but was not aware of charges for actual class of service.

Thans why I like reading this thread and thanx for clarifying.

Yes it was a webspecial. I really dont get AA webspecials if you use the old award booking interface there was no business award availability but on the new interface it was less miles then if I would have gotten an award makes zero sense.

The day is short but the work aplenty

Guess this is the new normal. Their search engine stinks. Now its even harder with having to chevk old interface and new one. Either way great redemption.

LGA-MSP-ANC-FAI-SCC-BRW-ANC-FAI-ANC-JNU-PSG-WRG-KTN-SEA-JFK... all in coach, and over 5 days. Gonna be fun ;D.

Three longest legs (MSP-ANC, ANC-JNU-WRG-KTN, and SEA-JFK) are now in Y+ or exit rows. Maybe I won't actually lose my knees on this trip.

My toes though are another matter... Looks like we're gonna have some -55 degree days. Can't wait ;D!

Well done! Anytime you get 7 J seats that's an accomplishment and at that price, an ever bigger one!
