That's what I figured. I already put in DL because 1-KE expires and 2-with this I'll have enough DL to go VA J back to SYD.

KE expires after 10 years, you really don't think you will have enough within that timeframe for an award?

What's the benefit of crediting flying blue? They also expire.

Those are 20 months, might not make as much sense as KE.

True, but crediting KE would mean I'd need to fly then within the next 10 years. Granted that will hopefully happen, it's not guaranteed.

ISP-MCO-ISP on SW for $219 after using discounted GCs.
iy"h when the CP comes, that'll be 2 RT tickets for $219.

ilherman isn't correct to "-1" you, because technically you're correct.

However, that's only because domestically, US Airways, among other airlines, refers to and labels their forward cabin, "first" as opposed to "business."

It most assuredly is not a true first class product ;)

Interesting. as opposed to the more honest Businessfirst.
I've always exclusively flown AA and UA (and Continental). Inbetween this and their refusal to give me a KSML on the LAX-PHL leg...

I stand correct. I thought that he is referring to the PHL-TLV product as First/ Envoy. Indeed most domestic carriers refers to their forward cabin, as "first"class.

Well, yeah UAs Businessfirst is much nicer than their first... (excluding global first)

Just BTW a TA just showed me that you can buy any Businessfirst product  with a F fare class. Though you can't book it online.

Don't even get me started on "BusinessFirst," perhaps the most misleading, confusing, and inept marketing label I've ever come across.

Actually it was brilliant.
CO eliminated F and made a J class that was better than their old F.

Pax didn't mind paying CO a premium for it.

But its long outdated nowadays.

*was*

You know what else *was* brilliant? AOL and the Palm Pilot.

"BusinessFirst" is an asinine name that may have made sense some 15-20 years ago, but has long since overstayed its marketing chic, particularly in light of "globalfirst."

I don't argue, it should have been retired with the merger.  My point is that it's hard to call it inept when it was brilliant at launch.

My exasperation lies not with the originator at CO.  Indeed, BusinessFirst in a vaccum connotes something beyond mere business class, which is what I imagine the CO marketing exec was going for.

The fault lies with the UA marketing exec who thought it'd be a good idea to have it stay around, in light of their other branding.

Any marketing which sows confusion about the very products you're trying to distinguish and sell, well, has missed the boat.

Agreed. But UA has proved inept at everything and has managed to bring the lowest common denominator of CO and UA to everything.
