my deductible is $200.

The question is, I just was added on to my allstate plan, and can cancel my plan for the next 30 days retroactively. Perhaps I should do that and let avis pay for it with the minimum state required liability they provide, the benefit being that I would not have the accident on my file. Or perhaps the deductible from avis will be very high, and maybe they'll require a police report which I don't have. Anyone have some insight?

I heard recently that many auto insurers have switched to a model where they calculate auto insurance using an emphasis on credit score. I think that my renewal which increase $15 a month was due to this because my credit took a bit of a hit because of a bunch of recent credit card apps. A $1500 damage claim really shouldn't do too much damage on your insurance especially because you probably got a 3 point ticket which can get knocked down very easily.

Now the real question is were you high while driving  ;)
