us airways nightmare
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:11:51 AM »
I was on the tlv-phl us airways flight in envoy booked with CO miles and in middle of the flight we were diverted to ireland due to a malfunction in the planes radio. I had to get off the plane clear customs retreive luggage and stand in a 4 hour line to get rebooked on a diffrent airline if I wanted to go to ny that day. Otherwise we would stay in a hotel and leave the next day. I was rebooked on aer lingus and was seated in economy after waiting 8 hours in the airport with no lounge access. Besides for missing work that day.
Basically after writing to customer relations for compensation, they gave me a $300 voucher for future travel.

My question is, what more can I expect from them after writing again to complain about the measly $300 they offered.

If you paid for a business class ticket I'd expect for more.

You fly USeless, you get USeless.

Did you contact CO or US for compensation?

I recommend going after CO, for a refund for the difference  between coach and biz, at least on that one-way segment, then send a better letter to US. I could handle your claim on a contingency basis, if you're unsure about how to go about it. Send me a PM if you're interested.

What if I used the miles from someone elses account on CO. Who would get the refund?

Depends what is refunded.

I had a bad experience on US booked with UA and through someone else's account.

I emailed US and UA. In the end i got vouchers from UA as well as a partial refund of miles. The miles went to the account holder while the vouchers came to me.
US gave me miles which went to my DM account as the tickets were booked on a UA account and not a US account.
