Really? $200 can't possibly break him if he's that close. He needs to be creative (and that's not a reference to anything specific, so don't please PM me about it).

Did not mean to incite a flame war. Just asking a question so that I can arrange my spending appropriately. Just went 10 for 11 on a app-o-rama and got 5 additional cards approved for my wife so trying to keep organized. B"h the spend is not the issue, was really just curious. Thanks.

Anyway, it depends on how you time your purchases. When done correctly, it can count towards the $1k.

Like I said, YMMV on the $200 applying toward spend req. I don't know of a way to time them so it'll definitely work (any here does?). Well done on the AOR, and welcome to our little world

Thanks guys. I have learned a lot from you folks so that is much appreciated. Reason I was curious was because when I got the AA cards in May and did the buy a gift card get 150 statement credit, it worked towards my spend. Will give it a shot with my new MB Plat and report back...

I made a similar mistake (did I ?). I saw a link on my GOLD card that said "upgrade to a Platinum card". I clicked on it & was appoved immediately. However there was no bonus points of ANY special offer. Now I am debating if I should downgrade back to the gold and wait for an offer or just be happy to have been acceped to the "platinum club"?

Are there any bonuses currently being offered that i can ask them to honor rather then downgrade? I searched and couldnt find any currently being offered. Also, wont using the $200 affect my chances of getting the full $450 refunded?

There were earn 25,000 for upgrading. Ask for that.

Used my expired one at the US Airways Club in CLT about 3 weeks ago. No problem.

I'm now on duty doing a app-o-rama, and I'm now at the personal reg plat phase. I got nervous to use the 50k link I found on the comments section of MMS, mathbe its one of the faulty.
Can anyone please confirm Tzadik Nistar's 50k link work?
Please try to respond ASAP, or if anyone has or know an accurate 50k link please post or at least PM.
