The impression I got from this thread, was that it's 60 days from opening the card, not from the anniversary.

I tried to search in the forums and I am pretty sure I have the correct conclusion, but just to be safe, I would like to ask the experts the following question:

 I have an amex platinum and a gold card, with mr points on each card. If I want to close the platinum card, will the platinum mr points combine with the gold card points, so that when the plat card is cancelled, the gold plus plat mr points will be listed on the gold card statement? Meaning if I have another amex mr card, I can close the plat card and the mr plat points will be combined with the mr points from the other card. Please confirm, thanks

why cancel? drago (at the last DO) explained to me sign up nw for the platt get ur 200 wait till jan 1 get another 200 and either cancel or even keep the card for 50$ :-) pretty worth it to me then!

Because you can get $400 and then cancel that way you don't have to pay anything.
IMHO its more worth to cancel  then not gaining any $$ and paying a extra $50, which depending how you look at it you are spending $450 that could of been in you pocket.
Do you really think its worth $450?

Do you mean if I log on to my amex account online, and I see both cards info on the same page, with the mr points combined, then i am ok to cancel the plat card, and my mr points are safe? I am sorry to be a pain, I just want to be clear on this. thanks

Its possible to have to logins for one MR account, never seen 2 MR accounts under 1 login.
But just check the MR account number for each card if they match.
I'm making you crazy not because its a common thing to happen, but because it just happened to me.
