What i'm worried about is if they do approve SPG somehow then the plat wont be approved because this is the first Amex card of this person and they probably wont want to approve more than one amex for a person who never had an Amex before...especially because theres no leverage to play with.

I'm a little confused. I read this thread and thought I saw a contradiction...

Can someone clarify: If I have an Amex Gold Business card (and I got the bonus for it already 75K) would I be able to get the bonus for this Amex Plat 100K card? I have been approved via the link Dan sent on his site...)

I should. But I was thinking to call for SPG because that was denied on the spot as opposed to the plat which they will notify me. If the plat gets approved is there any way to use the plat as some type of leverage to approve the SPG? Like ask them to put an internal CL in the plat?

Can't imagine they would do that. Either way what do you lose by calling on the plat now?

not true. my wife never had an Amex before and I did a 2bm for plat and gold. she got instant approval. also 2 years ago I applied for plat, spg, and gold for the first time via 3 seperate applications and got approved.

Does anyone have concrete experience with trying to get the bonus for a regular platinum after having the MB platinum. Previously I had tried to churn the MB after having closed a previous MB and was denied. This was 5 months ago. I'd like to go ahead for this 100k promotion and have not had the regular platinum in about two years.

Just did 3bm now with 100k Plat, MB plat and blue cash.
All 3 were pending but called and got a really nice rep who approved one after another

So all 3 approved now, just have to try hope i beat the system and get the bonuses for both plats iyh!
