Have the 200 dollar credit on card and about to cancel. In the sm I plan on writing that I would like to cancel and can you please send me a check for the 450 annual fee plus the 200 dollar credit on my account making it 650.

Does that work and is there any chance they will give me trouble with the credit I got thru the PGGM as I am now closing?

Just SM that you're cancelling and would like a refund of the $450 fee. You will subsequently see your balance on the closed card as -$650 (assuming you are already showing a balance of -$200), and you can then request a check for the full $650.

You mean when I close the card I don't even need to mention a refund on the annual fee? It will just show up as a credit? It's funny that u can have a credit on a closed account.

How long after adding an AU to the plat will I get charged the 175? Wanna add an AU before I cancel, however wasn't sure what the policy is about it getting refunded when cancelling as has been reported here on DDF that it can sometimes be an issue.

Was therefore wondering if I add an AU and then SM right away to cancel if that would work or the 175 would get deducted from my credit till I fight it out with them,

I tried getting the check through the disputing method and it didn't work. And you can't sm with a closed account.

You SM: 1) Please close; 2) refund the annual fee, and 3) mail me (or wire) the credit balance. All in one SM.

Did you ever do that? Because it takes a few days for the refund to come through. I never heard of sm'ing that they should do something in a few days.

When someone gets a platinum or gold card bill it says, "Please pay by ...". We all know that's not when the bill is really due. How many days after the please pay by date is the bill due?
