Ok, so might be a stupid question, but has anyone been blocked by Amex for pulling this (getting points, $200 airline, and $450 fee refunded). I posted this on Flyertalk and quite a few people said not to cancel so soon, cause Amex could permanently block you. At the least, they said downgrade to Blue. Any thoughts?

Also, 1 more question - does anyone have any experience with how long you get to keep SPG Gold once you cancel your Platinum card?

CMIIW but I Don't think you can downgrade to blue as blue is a cc and plat is charge.

And as far as canceling so early on after getting all the points, has anyone here on the forum had issues afterwards? Don't really want to read through 105 pages. Thanks. I'm almost at 60 days, and would like to cancel tomorrow if no one has.

Great option if you just want if for lounge access and are concerned that you wouldn't receive the bonus points.
